Coach Jasmin Repesa, after five straight losses in Italian Serie A, has resigned from Lottomatica Virtus Rome bench. He arrived in Rome in the summer 2006 taking the club in Serie A final after 25 years. In Italy he has won a title with Fortitudo Bologna. "I resign because I love the team and the city. I feel not able to solve this situation and now, just with my resignation Rome may go out from quicksand". Rome's president Claudio Toti accepted his resignation and now will look for a new coach.
In the meantime, assistant coach Nando Gentile takes over the bench in an interim basis.
