The Minnesota Timberwolves are eyeing Monte Morris from the Detroit Pistons to enhance their bench, particularly seeking a backup point guard behind Mike Conley.

Morris, who recently debuted for the Pistons after recovering from a right quad strain, has drawn interest from the Timberwolves dating back to last season when he played for the Washington Wizards.

Tim Connelly, the president of basketball operations for Minnesota, originally drafted Morris in 2017, and the team sees him as a potential stabilizer for the backup point guard position.

Morris is among the veterans the Pistons are considering trading before the deadline, having been acquired by Detroit in a salary-clearing trade from Washington last summer.
