Timberwolves acquire Monte Morris in trade with Pistons

The Minnesota Timberwolves have finalized a trade deal with the Detroit Pistons, acquiring guard Monte Morris.

According to NBA insider Shams Charania, the Timberwolves are sending Shake Milton, Troy Brown Jr., and a second-round pick to the Pistons in exchange for Morris.

28-year-old Morris, who is on an expiring three-year, $27.7 million contract, joins the Timberwolves after averaging 4.5 points, 2 rebounds, and 1.3 assists in 11.3 minutes over six games for the Pistons this season.

Brown, 24, has one more year left on his two-year, $8 million contract, with the final year being a team option. He has been averaging 4.2 points and 1.9 rebounds in 11.1 minutes per game for the Timberwolves this season.

Milton, also 24, has a similar contractual situation, with a year remaining on his two-year, $10 million deal with a team option for the final year. He has been contributing 4.7 points, 1.3 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game in 12.9 minutes of action.
