Pini GershonWe had reported some days ago that some changes were expected to take place in Maccabi Tel Aviv and they did last night as Maccabi announced the return of Pini Gershon.

Here is the full official announcement by Maccabi Tel Aviv:

"Tonight (Monday), the management of Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv made some important changes in the teamʼs professional staff.
Pini Gershon, the teamʼs former head coach who led the club to three European championships, will once again become the teamʼs head coach starting tomorrow, Tuesday, November 25, 2008, for the next three seasons, including this one.
The club has parted ways with former head coach Efy Birenboim, and his assistant Roi Hagay, and thanks them for their faithful service over the past few months.

Pini Gershon is expected to arrive in Israel tomorrow afternoon, and to coach Maccabi Electra Tel Avivʼs Euroleague game against Unicaja Malaga this coming Thursday."

Pini Gershon who was still living in Athens is expected to Tel Aviv later today to take over the team and return to the Euroleagye after almost a year of absense.
