Patrick Beverley showcased his prowess by scoring a season-high 12 points, including an impressive 4-of-5 from beyond the arc, as the Philadelphia 76ers routed the Los Angeles Lakers 138-94.

The veteran point guard, who joined the Sixers this offseason as a free agent, took a moment post-game to express his admiration for the team’s head coach, Nick Nurse.

Beverley showered Nurse with praise after the game. “He’s the best,” he said. “When I left school early, I remember meeting him in Chicago, and he was the head coach trying to get me to play for the Iowa Energy.

“Fifteen years later, we’re back playing with each other. His demeanor is so cool. He’s so swaggy, he’s so chill. He’s a players’ coach. He understands everything. Obviously, he has a system, he puts his system in, and everyone is reaping the benefits of it. It’s been a pleasure all the way through.”
