Following the Spurs’ loss to the Clippers, Coach Gregg Popovich addressed the San Antonio crowd’s booing of Kawhi Leonard. Despite dismissing reporters’ inquiries about the unusual incident, Popovich did offer a succinct explanation.

In response to follow-up questions, Popovich firmly stated, “You don’t poke the bear,” emphasizing that he had already provided the explanation. He maintained this stance despite attempts to delve further into the matter.

Popovich, animated in his response, insisted, “I just told you why I did it. I spoke English. I just told you. Anybody that knows anything about sports knows that you don’t poke the bear. That’s my answer.”

While acknowledging the rarity of a coach reprimanding his own fans for booing an opposing player, Popovich stood by his principle of not provoking potential challenges.
