With a winless beginning in the initial four games of the ongoing EuroLeague Regular Season and a 4-3 record in the LNB, positioning them in the 7th spot in the domestic league standings, ASVEL decided on a coaching change by parting ways with TJ Parker.

Discussing the potential successor for the French club’s bench, ASVEL’s president, Tony Parker, acknowledged having conversations with only two head coaches.

“I spoke with Sergio Scariolo and Gordon Herbert, who would be our number 1 option. I never spoke with Andrea Trinchieri,” Parker said.

The leading candidate for the position on ASVEL’s bench is the head coach of the German national team. However, ASVEL is currently awaiting the final decision from Germany before making a formal announcement.

“We are waiting for the agreement of the German Federation, which is still under consideration. If all goes well, we hope Gordie will be there on Monday. I hope it will be positive and, if not, we will try to find another coach,” Parker added.
