The Miami Heat, long rumored to be interested in acquiring Bradley Beal, ultimately decided not to make a trade for the Washington Wizards star guard this offseason.

Despite Beal’s availability and the allure of adding a high-scoring talent to their roster, the Heat opted to pass on the opportunity.

According to insider information shared by ESPN’s Zach Lowe, the decision came down to a calculated assessment of Beal’s value in comparison to their young talent, notably Tyler Herro.

The Heat’s management reportedly questioned whether Beal, who is seven years older than Herro, was worth the substantial financial investment.

“From what I heard, the Heat looked at that situation and said, ‘We don’t think Bradley Beal, who’s…seven years older than Tyler Herro, is $30 million better than Tyler Herro going forward. We just don’t think the upgrade is worth it,’” Lowe said, via HoopsHype.
