Los Angeles Clippers forward Marcus Morris has reflected on his comment last season when he referred to the team’s fans as ‘bums.’

In a recent interview, the 34-year-old veteran expressed understanding and a desire to improve his performance for the fanbase. Morris acknowledged his emotional state at the time of making the comment.

“I’ll take that because I was being a little emotional at the time,” he said. “I was on my feelings. Rightfully so, they can have their opinions. I didn’t play as well as I could have last year. Lot of things went different. But rightfully so.

“I just need to be better for the fanbase, better for the fans. I think we all do as a team. They deserve better. It is what it is, I said what I said. One thing I can do is go out and play well.”

During the previous season, Morris averaged 11.2 points, 4 rebounds, and 1.8 assists in 28.1 minutes per game.

As the new season approaches, Morris appears committed to making amends and delivering a stronger performance for Clippers fans.
