New Orleans Pelicans forward Trey Murphy III is on the road to recovery after undergoing a successful partial meniscectomy and receiving a biologic injection in his left knee.

The Pelicans made the official announcement, stating, “The surgery was performed by Dr. David Altchek at the Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) in New York. Murphy III is expected to make a full recovery and will return to basketball activities in approximately 10-12 weeks.”

The injury setback came as a disappointment for Murphy, who had an impressive sophomore year last season, averaging 14.5 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 1.4 assists in 31 minutes per game.
