As the current front office head of the Utah Jazz, Danny Ainge had a moment to throw his respect and best regards to one of the best players of the franchise Deron Williams.

Upon hitting the golf course with the former NBA All-Star, Ainge wrote an X post to honor Williams for being a Utah basketball great of the past.

Perhaps the most forgotten basketball star of his generation, Williams was once within the contention of the best point guard in the league discussions thanks to his explosiveness, scoring repertoire, and solid playmaking.

Williams started his career as a Jazz. With their prized top-three pick of the 2005 Draft, Utah was able to enjoy four postseason appearances including a trip to the Conference Finals in 2007 alongside the floor general.

For six seasons in Salt Lake City, Williams was able to average 17.3 points, 9.1 assists, and 3.2 boards for 439 games. He also went on to grab two All-Star selections and All-NBA recognitions.

While Williams’ name already faded from the memories of some, real ones still know and acknowledge his talent and greatness.
