FC Barcelona Lassa bolstered its froncourt by inking center Samardo Samuels to a two-year deal, the club announced Wednesday.
Samuels (2.06 meters, 26 years old) arrives from EA7 Emporio Armani Milan, where he averaged 12.9 points and 5.4 rebounds in 23 Turkish Airlines Euroleague games last season.
He had the single-game highest performance index rating in the 2014-15 season, earning Top 16 Week 8 honors. Samuels had 36 points on 14-of-16 two-point shots and 9 rebounds in his team’s 76-85 road win against Nizhny Novgorod, amassing a PIR of 47.
He has also played for Cleveland of the NBA, Erie Bay, Canton and Reno of the D-League and Hapoel Jerusalem of Israel. Samuels helped Milan win the Italian League title – the club’s first since 1996 – in 2014. He is also a member of the Jamaican national team, to which he helped win the 2009 CBC Championships and get a bronze medal at CentroBasket 2012.
