James Harden remains clueless with how the upcoming offseason will uphold his future.

Speaking in front of the media following the Philadelphia 76ers’ second-round elimination against the Boston Celtics, Harden noted that he is yet to fully process and contemplate about the much anticipated summer that he will take.

“I haven’t even thought about it now,” Harden plainly stated after their humiliating Sunday loss.

Instead of opting in on his $47.4MM player option, Harden notably agreed for a much lower new contract last summer, inking a two-year, $68.6 million deal with Philadelphia. This move by the star ultimately allowed the Sixers to ink both P.J. Tucker and Daniel House as the franchise looks to enhance their roster on its continuing title pursuit.

As his financial sacrifice didn’t come in fruition to what they are hoping for upon crumbling in Game 7 against the Celtics, all eyes are now watching Harden’s intent to potentially opt out the second year of his deal which has a player option. Plenty of rumors suggest that he may likely welcome a reunion with his former franchise in Houston Rockets.

For now, Harden can only feel disappointed with the finish they had this year.

From tallying a third-best 54-28 record in the East while being hailed all year long as a title contender, Phila failed to advance to the Conference Finals from Boston’s Game 7 massacre.

“I’m very, very disappointed,” he said. “Very frustrated. It’s a lot I want to say, but it’s frustrating.”
