Karl-Anthony Towns has just finished his 8th year with the Timberwolves. So far he has not played for another team in the NBA.

The 27-year-old center is currently on a 5-year, $158 million contract which expires in 2024, but he has already signed a 4-year, $224 million extension which runs through 2028.

According to a league source who spoke with Sean Deveney of Heavy.com, it is only a matter of time before the Knicks make a move for Towns.

In addition to being to his contributions on the court and his contractual situation that make his attractive for New York, the player also has a personal connection – he is from Jersey – which makes the Knicks an appealing destination for him.

This season Towns averaged 20.8 points, 8.1 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game for the Wolves.
