Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the Thunder to the play-in tournament win against the Pelicans with 32 points.

It took some time for the 24-year-old point guard to get going. He scored 7 points in the first half before erupting for 17 points in the third quarter.

His teammate Josh Giddey, who was the second in scoring for the Thunder with 31 points, praised Gilgeous-Alexander for not forcing shots and allowing the game come to him.

Via Andrew Lopez of ESPN:

“It would have been easy for him to come out of halftime pressing, trying to get his game going, but he let it come to him naturally,” Giddey said. “He finished with [32] after a tough first half. That just speaks to how good of a player he is.”
