After further evaluation, the Phoenix Suns officially announced Thursday that Kevin Durant will be out and re-evaluated for three weeks with his left ankle sprain.

Various sources have noted earlier that Durant is indeed set to be out for around two to three weeks to recover. This definite three-week timeline by the Suns appears ideal for the star forward in order for him to be fully healed.

It was an unfortunate accident for Durant last Tuesday. After appearing in his first three games on the road and slated to perform in his home debut for the jam-packed Footprint Center, he went on to injure himself after slipping in the pregame of the Suns’ eventual win over the Oklahoma City Thunder.

As such, Phoenix will take every precautionary measure possible to preserve him, since he also took significant time to recover from his previous MCL sprain that sidelined him for 20 games this season.

By looking at the calendar, Durant might be able to find himself back in the team lineup in early April, which can at least allow him and the Suns to prepare for a few more before entering the postseason stage.
