After three-straight games of playing around hype, attention, and some hostility on the road, it’s time for Kevin Durant to put on a show at home for the Phoenix Suns.

This will take place Wednesday when the Suns get back to the Footprint Center, as he is set to encounter his old team, the Oklahoma City Thunder. For Durant, his home debut as a Sun can only give him a clear prediction that the reception will be truly warm, similar to the usual weather in Arizona.

“I’m glad I was able to get a couple on the road to get my feet wet because I know it’s going to be loud in there,” Durant said, per ESPN’s Brian Windhorst. “I’m looking forward to our fans. I know they can’t wait to see us out on the floor.”

Durant, who arrived in Phoenix via blockbuster trade last trade deadline, had no choice but to take his time to recover for a few more days from an MCL sprain that he sustained last January as a Brooklyn Net.

And now, the wait is over for the Suns faithful, and this can’t be more perfect for them as the club was blazing atop the Western Conference.

Since Durant played, the Suns remain undefeated. They went on to sweep their last road trip that includes a signature win over Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic-led Dallas Mavericks on Saturday. In their last 11 games, they won eight – which puts them in a comfortable position at fourth of the West rankings.

So far in three games representing Phoenix, the future Hall of Famer is averaging 26.7 markers and 7.3 boards. He is also shooting superbly with an 80.8 percent true shooting rate.

“The energy we have from the second you walk into the gym until everybody leaves is so upbeat and energetic,” Durant said. “[It] makes you very excited to come to work.”
