LONDON, March 6, 2023 – The National Basketball Association (NBA) today named Dina Ahmad as Vice President, New Business Ventures & Global Partnerships for Europe and the Middle East (EME). Ahmad will be based in the league’s London office and report to NBA EME Managing Director Ralph Rivera.

In her role, Ahmad will support the continued growth of the NBA’s business development efforts in Europe and the Middle East, including all non-media business-to-business collaborations. Ahmad will also support the continued development and optimization of the NBA’s licensing and sponsorship business, while also identifying transformational opportunities around new business verticals throughout the region.

Ahmad joins the NBA from City Football Group/Manchester City FC where she was Vice President of Global Partnership Sales, responsible for leading the group’s efforts in commercial partnerships acquisition and revenue growth across their portfolio of football clubs worldwide.

“Dina brings a wealth of experience to the NBA and has a proven track record of partnering with world-class brands,” said Rivera. “Europe and the Middle East are key markets for the NBA, and under Dina’s guidance we look forward to continued growth and working with new and existing partners to deepen our engagement with fans.”

“The NBA is one of the most coveted sporting leagues globally, and I am thrilled to be joining this iconic organisation at such an exciting period in its history,” said Ahmad. “I am honoured to have the opportunity to assist in furthering the impressive growth the NBA has already achieved in Europe and the Middle East, and to work closely with innovative brands and partners to connect with the NBA’s sizeable fanbase in the region.”

Prior to City Football Group, Ahmad held senior roles in investment banking, most recently as Senior Vice President with BNP Paribas in Emerging Markets Fixed Income Strategy. Ahmad holds a bachelor’s degree in Management Sciences from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
