Amid swirling doubts and negativities, as they continue crashing down the Western Conference board, Paul George is keeping his faith intact in his Los Angeles Clippers squad.

For George, the recent tough losses will only serve as blessings in disguise for L.A. as they look to bounce back and be familiarized with pressure time with postseason action nearing.

“You see the big picture of what we can be and what we will be,” George said, per Los Angeles Times’ Andrew Greif. “I still believe we’re gonna be a tough team to beat in seven games. And these tough losses can be lessons learned, just how to close out, we haven’t done it yet; I’m sure we’ll get to it. And when we do, we’ll be comfortable and confident in these moments.”

Like fellow contending teams, the Clippers were active in shopping this season’s trade market. They went on to acquire Mason Plumlee, Eric Gordon, and Bones Hyland while inking former All-Star Russell Westbrook to fill that need for a ball-handler.

Amid these significant additions, they remain not stepping yet into the win column. Since the All-Star break, they’ve taken five-straight painful losses that sent them down to the Conference’s eight-seed with a 33-33. Should the bleeding of losses persist, they may see themselves sitting in 13th place at worst.

But looking on paper, the Clippers constructed a deep, talented team. With Kawhi Leonard and George leading, they got a plethora of reliable supporting casts to aid them in pursuit of the elusive title.

With tough times currently inflicting pain on their side, Clippers can only hope that they’ll be able to flip things around and maintain their position as a competitive ball club.
