Anadolu Efes Istanbul bolstered its frontcourt by inking center Bryant Dunston and power forward Derrick Brown, the club announced Tuesday. Both players penned two-year contracts with the Turkish powerhouse. Dunston (2.03 meters, 29 years old) arrives from Olympiacos Piraeus, which he helped to reach the Turkish Airlines Euroleague championship game and to win the Greek League title last season. He averaged 7.1 points and 4.4 rebounds in 29 Euroleague games last season. In his two years with Olympiacos, Dunston was chosen by Euroleague coaches as the Best Defender Trophy winner twice. He became the second player in competition history, along with Dimitris Diamantidis, to win this award more than once. Dunston has also played for Pallacanestro Varese in Italy, Hapoel Holon and Bnei HaSharon in Israel, Aris Thessaloniki in Greece and Mobis Phoebus in South Korea. He helped Mobis win the South Korean League title in 2010. Over the last two years, Dunston has led the Euroleague in total blocks (70), ranked seventh in rebounds (283) and 10th in steals (55).
Brown (2.01 meters, 27 years old) arrives from Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar, where he played the last three seasons. He was chosen to the All-Eurocup First Team last season after averaging 15.4 points on 62.4% two-point shooting and 45% three-point shooting, 5.2 rebounds and 2.8 rebounds. Brown led the 2014-15 Eurocup in performance index rating (19.8 PIR) and helped Lokomotiv break the Eurocup record for most consecutive wins, 20. He led Lokomotiv to its only Eurocup title in 2013, helping it reach the VTB League finals that season and the Russian Cup final in 2014, too. Brown also shined in the 2013-14 Euroleague with Lokomotiv, averaging 13.9 points and 4.5 rebounds in 23 games. Brown also played for Charlotte and San Antonio of the NBA before joining Lokomotiv.
