A potential trade for OG Anunoby could require the receiving team to give up a boatload offer to the Toronto Raptors.

Per Yahoo! Sports’ Jake Fischer, the Raptors brass led by Masai Ujiri have left clues that they will only consider cutting ties with Anunoby should there be a haul of at least near the Atlanta Hawks package for Dejounte Murray.

“Meanwhile, Raptors officials have left rival front offices with the impression, sources said, it would take a haul at least in the ballpark of Atlanta’s offseason price for Dejounte Murray – multiple unprotected first round picks – for Toronto to even consider parting with OG Anunoby, a known favorite of Ujiri.”

The Hawks notably pulled the trigger last offseason, sending a massive package bannered by three future first-round picks to the San Antonio Spurs just to acquire Murray.

With Toronto creating noise on the league’s trade circle, Anunoby has been widely watched by many for potential trades. The former Indiana star has been coveted due to his immense two-way abilities and high All-Star potential.

The type of player that Anunoby features have been enticing and in demand in today’s dynamic game. But knowing Ujiri, it would certainly need a hefty price to pay just to snag him away from the Raptors camp.

This season, Anunoby is averaging a career-high 17.9 points, 5.8 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 2.2 steals per game. He is also shooting 46.3 percent from the field.

What is much more enticing in his case is that he has a $19.9 million player option for the 2024-25 season from his four-year, $72 million extension with the Raptors last 2020.

This 2022-23 and the following season will certainly create more buzz regarding his future – most especially if he will be able to elevate his game or the franchise ultimately decides to head towards the rebuilding stage.
