The Atlanta Hawks formally announced on Monday that they’ve named Kyle Korver as their assistant general manager.
Korver previously joined the Hawks brass last July 2022 as their newest director of player affairs & development. As such, the elevation of the position only offers both sides an enjoyable partnership.
“Kyle has brought a great perspective and voice to our group after seamlessly making the transition from playing to coaching to the front office,” said General Manager Landry Fields. “Moving forward, I’m excited to have him even more involved with the day-to-day management and direction of our basketball operations group. Kyle is a special person and teammate whose impact will continue to raise the level of our entire organization. He and his family have made Atlanta their home and we’re thrilled to have them as part of the Hawks family long term.”
In 17 seasons of playing in the NBA, Korver was most notable in his time as a Hawk. He suited up in four-and-a-half seasons (2012-2017) for the team while being named in his first and only All-Star appearance back in the 2014-15 campaign.
A renowned marksman, Korver established himself as one of the deadliest snipers in the game, currently ranked as fifth in NBA history in three-pointers made (2,450) while tallying the best three-point accuracy in a single season (.536 percent last 2009-2010 for the Utah Jazz).
