Russell Westbrook took the matters in his own hands as he was one-on-one with Joel Embiid for the final play of the game with the Lakers trailing by one point against the 76ers.

The 34-year-old point guard, who finished the game with a triple-double of 20 points, 14 rebounds and 11 assists, drove to the basket for a layup, but was blocked by Georges Niang and the Lakers lost the game.

Speaking to the media postgame, Westbrook said that Embiid was grabbing his wrist and because of that he could not get his hand up to shoot.

“[I was] trying to attack and get to the basket,” Russ said about the final play. “It’s unfortunate, but [Embiid] was grabbing my wrist. I couldn’t get the ball up. But it’s all good. We’ll get it tomorrow, tonight.”
