Today’s main news came from the Windy City as the Chicago Bulls ended months of rumours by dismissing coach Tom Thibodeau but we start our column with an international flavour.

MARC GASOL MIGHT MISS EUROBASKET

Though not confirmed whether Marc Gasol will actually miss or even skip Eurobasket this summer, the Memphis Grizzlies center’s summer donning  the red and yellow for his national side is in doubt.

“The decision about the national team is tied with my future,” Marc Gasol told Gigantes. “I have played for the national team 14 straight years and it will come the day I’ll need to rest. I have not spoken yet with coach Scariolo,” added the big man who will be free agent from July 1.

“I have not thought about changing teams. Everybody knows about the relationship between Memphis and all my family. It’s special and it has left a mark on us. You have to put everything in the balance. The decision will be good because I will make it good.”

DWIGHT HOWARD IS STILL A CHAMPION

Dwight Howard is still a champion in his eyes … even if he hasn’t actually won a ring.

Well, he’s confident in his own ability at least.

Via CBS Sports:

“It’s tough, but I won’t stop fighting,” Howard said. “I’m going to continue to push myself to the limit and remember that, no matter how he season ends, I’m still a champion. And I won’t let anyone tell me anything different.”

JUST COME IN: JOHN WALL KICKED OFF A FLIGHT?

TMZ have broken a story involving, Washington Wizards All-Star guard John Wall, who was recently booted off a flight after someone in his crew reportedly threatened a fellow passenger.

Wall was headed back to the American capital following a few days in Las Vegas.

The story alleges that the pilot asked Wall and company to disembark after the altercation.

Law enforcement sources tell us the Washington Wizards star had boarded a flight headed to D.C. on May 26th — but before the plane took off, his crew got into a verbal argument with someone else on the plane and a threat was allegedly made from someone in Wall’s group.

We’re told someone from the flight crew called the Las Vegas Metro Police Department for help — and cops boarded the plane to deal with the situation.

The alleged victim told cops he did not want to press charges — but the pilot of the plane decided he did NOT want Wall and his crew to remain on the flight so they were escorted off. […] We’re told Wall and his party left without further incident.
