The new Lakers head coach Darvin Ham said recently that he spoke with Russell Westbrook who expressed his willingness to commit himself on the defensive end. During day one of the training camp, the former NBA MVP was asked what it looks like.
“I don’t know what it looks like,” Russ said. “Just me competing like I’ve always have, playing the hardest I can. I know that there will be mistakes, there will be miscues just like anybody else.
“My job is to make sure that I defend at the highest level to make sure that I’m doing the best I can for my teammates.”
