It was reported previously that a former NBA star and current Michigan head coach Juwan Howard turned down an offer from the Lakers to become the team’s new head coach. He was more interested in staying on his current job and coaching his two sons in college.

According to Marc Stein, Los Angeles preferred Howard over the other candidates and he would have gotten the job had he wanted it.

In the end the Lakers reached an agreement with Darvin Harm, another former NBA player who worked as an assistant for the Bucks.
