Jimmy Butler is still perplexed by the Philadelphia 76ers choosing to ride with Tobias Harris over him and let them know it after leading the Miami Heat past his former team in six games. Butler scored 32 points in a 99-90 victory on Thursday night that saw Miami reach the Eastern Conference Finals for the second time in three years.

Joel Embiid is on Jimmy’s side here and would lament over the fact that Philly let the forward go following his team’s loss. “I wouldn’t sit here and say I don’t wish he was my teammate,” the 2022 MVP finalist said. “I still don’t know how we let him go, but I wish I could have gone to battle with him still. It is what it is, we just got to keep building and keep trying to reach that goal.”

Embiid missed the first two games of the series through injury and returned to help the Sixers tie things up at 2-2 after they went 2-0 down. However, his former teammate, who remains a close friend, got the better of him in Games 5 and 6.
