76ers great Julius Erving weighed in on the MVP debate. The 1983 NBA champion thinks that Joel Embiid and Nikola Jokic are the favorite the award along with Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Between them Erving thinks that the Serbian center is the most deserving because has not missed any games and even improved on his MVP season. Still, his vote goes to Embiid because he is a Sixer.

“I’m hopeful that Embiid wins it because he does talk about it and there’s something that is one of those carrots out there that he’s reaching for,” Erving said on The Rich Eisen Show.

“But I think the most deserving guy is [Nikola] Jokic. He hasn’t missed any games and night in the night out he did better than he did last year. He was MVP last year and when you get better, I don’t think you lose status, not if it’s a fair fight.

“But I’m going to vote for Embiid because he’s my guy. And [Giannis] Antetokounmpo who knows how he’s going to finish up. Both Embiid and Antetokounmpo have missed several weeks of play. Jokic has been there every night.”

This season Jokic is averaging 26.8 points. 13.7 rebouns and 8 assists in 33.3 minutes per game for the Nuggets.
