LeBron James was absent for the Lakers as they were defeated by the Spurs in San Antonio (110-117). Los Angeles could not contain first-time All-Star Dejounte Murray who led the game in scoring with 26 points.

Five players scored in double digits for the Lakers, namely Talen Horton-Tucker (18), Russell Westbrook (17), Malik Monk (17), Carmelo Anthony (17), Austin Reaves (13), but it wasn’t enough.

“We got to guard better,” Lakers head coach Frank Vogel said postgame. “Whatever lineups we have out there it doesn’t matter. We didn’t do well with our big lineup for the most part.

“Obviously, [the Spurs] have an All-Star point guard who has a great chemistry with Poeltl rolling to the basket for short flipshots and crashes. I thought we did a decent job trying to switch it blow up some of that action but just not good enough.”
