James Jones and the Phoenix Suns have reached a new agreement of extended partnership for years to come. Per Marc J. Spears of The Undefeated, Jones inked a multi-year contract extension with the franchise.

Jones, 41, remains as the intelligent and tactical architect of the powerhouse Suns upon seizing the helm of general manager in 2019. He called Monty Williams for a head coaching job, acquired in 2020 and re-signed future Hall of Famer Chris Paul last offseason, and constructed the Phoenix’s competitive lineup with the current league’s best 37-9 this season.

The three-time NBA champion as a player, Jones captured the NBA Executive of the Year award last 2021 season upon molding a Suns lineup that reached the NBA Finals for the first time since 1993.

Jones initially joined the ball club as the vice president of basketball operations in 2018.
