Trevor Ariza played his second game this season for the Los Angeles Lakers in the loss against the Phoenix Suns. The 36-year-old forward came off the bench to score 12 points (3/3 three-pointers) in 21 minutes of play.

He was out due to an injury since preseason. According to David Fizdale who substituted Frank Vogel at the head coach position, it is great to have Ariza back in the rotation.

“Man, so good to have him out there. He’s just a calm and calming presence,” Fizdale said. “The way he goes about it gives everybody ease. You know what he’s going to do on the court, he doesn’t try to do stuff that’s outside of his skill set.

“Defensively he’s just so sound. Got a couple moments tonight where they tested his feet and he couldn’t slide wit ha few guys and that’s okay because he’s just coming back.

“But for just coming back and throwing him in the fire and him seeing that ball go in and him really helping us defensively and communicating and executing our coverages just the right way is great. And it’s going to get better as he gets stronger.”
