Steve Kerr seems to not worry about the Golden State Warriors’ loss to the red-hot Suns Tuesday night. The Suns blitzed against Steph Curry, who had the worst shooting night of his career.
Steve Kerr told the media in a post-game interview that other teams are going to copy the Suns’ defensive tactics against Steph Curry.
In the 104-96 loss to the Suns, Curry had an off night and shot just 4-for-21 from the field for 12 points in 36 minutes. Curry had a tough night against Mikal Bridges and the rest of the Suns’ defense.

“Teams are going to commit people to Steph the way Phoenix did. There’s gonna be openings. There’s gonna be openings for Jordan (Poole). Openings for Otto (Porter Jr.). Those guys knocked down a bunch of threes. Openings for Klay Thompson. That’s gonna be fun. Lots to look forward to,” Kerr said, per Anthony Slater of the Athletic.
Klay Thompson has started participating in 5-on-5 activities recently. He was even sent to the Warriors G League affiliate for some extra reps, as he’s expected to make his return around Christmas.
Thompson has not played since Game 6 of the 2019 NBA Finals. It was back when Steph Curry and the rest of the Golden State Warriors lost to the Toronto Raptors.
He ruptured his right Achilles tendon during preparation for the 2020-21 NBA season to miss the whole season for the second consecutive year.
His return will certainly open more options in the Warriors’ offense. Golden State is still leading the league record-wise having an identical record with the Phoenix Suns (18-3).
