Despite high expectations ahead of this season, the Los Angeles Lakers are struggling to climb among the top teams in the league. With eight wins and nine defeats, the team sits in 9th place in the Western Conference.

So far, the Lakers have not played a single regular season game with all of their players being available. Whilst it is still early in the season, LeBron James was asked whether the team feels a sense of urgency.

“It’s never ‘We got 65 games left.’ We damn sure need to play better,” James said postgame. “No matter who is in the lineup. We have our system and we need to fast track it and get better with it to where we can play no matter who’s out on the floor we could play at a high level.

“It’s never that we got 65 games and we have to figure it out then. But there’s no level of panic but there should be some sense of urgency any time we hit the floor. I feel like we had that at moments throughout this game tonight and at some point throughout this game we didn’t. We got to figure out how to keep that sense of urgency as close to 48 minutes as possible.”
