Norman Powell won’t be available for the Blazers in Monday’s matchup against the LA Clippers. The veteran swingman went down with a left knee injury in Saturday’s win over the Suns.

The Blazers signed Powell to a 5-year / $90M extension this offseason. Last year, Powell averaged 18.6 points on 47.7 percent from the field and 41.1 percent from deep.

He came to Portland via a trade that sent Gary Trent Jr. to Toronto during the last season. Powell will be an important absence ahead of the game vs. the Clippers, as he’s the third scoring option behind CJ McCollum and Damian Lillard.

The Blazers would prefer to see Lillard getting hot, after a mediocre start with Powell out. As for McCollum, he is averaging 31.0 points on 56 percent from the field and 55 percent from deep.

The Clippers will face Portland without Kawhi Leonard, Serge Ibaka, and Jason Preston, while Keon Johnson is still questionable.
