Real Madrid achieved its third straight victory over Fenerbahce Thursday to improve its record to 4-1 in the first five rounds of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague.

The “Whites” had to dig themselves out from a 9-point first-half deficit (32-41) and claim a huge 69-70 victory over the Turkish powerhouse. Fener dropped to a 2-3 record after its defeat on Thursday.

Madrid outlasted Fener after going down during the fourth quarter (50-56). In the last nine minutes, Real made a 20-13 run, with Vincent Poirier and Thomas Heurtel hitting four “clutch” free throws at the last minute of the game to lead the team to its fourth victory in the competition.

Armani Milano clawed back to win a close one over LDCL ASVEL. The Italian club got back from a 26-40 deficit at halftime to win the game by one point (73-72), making a crucial 23-11 run during the third quarter.

Milan maintained a perfect record in the EuroLeague and climbed back to the top of the standings after the opening matches of Round 5. Donta Hall was the man of the moment hitting the three that led Milan to the victory with 27 seconds remaining.

Maccabi Tel Aviv took control of the game against Panathinaikos early and maintained the lead to claim a 77-73 over the “Greens”, who dropped another game away from home.

The Israeli powerhouse maintained a double-digit lead until the last two minutes of the fourth quarter, when Panathinaikos made a run to cut the lead to four. Maccabi improved to 3-2 after Thursday’s win.

Efes needed a 9-0 run at the end of the game vs. UNICS Kazan to achieve its first win (68-71) in the 2021-22 EuroLeague regular season. Both teams are tied at 1-4 after Thursday’s matchup.

Bayern Munich was able to return from a double-digit deficit (39-27) to get its first win in a close-fought battle (75-73) with Zalgiris Kaunas.

Both teams fought hard to add their first win to the winning column; however, the German club came at the top in the end. Zalgiris remains the only winless team in EuroLeague after five games.
