Wayne Ellington was back at Staples Center as a host and not as visitor for the first time since the 2014-2015 season as the Los Angeles Lakers took on the Brooklyn Nets in first preseason game. The visitors finished as the winners 123-97.

The 33-year-old shooting guard came off the bench to play 22 points during which he scored 11 points which was good enough to be the tied-second-top scorer for the Lakers along with Dwight Howard.

After the game, Ellington talked about how he felt playing at Staples Center. “It felt amazing, felt amazing getting out there on the floor, looking up and seeing all the fans out there and fans being in the building. It’s nothing like in that purple and gold.”
