LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony will finally team up in the NBA. According to NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski, Melo reached an agreement with the Los Angeles Lakers on an one-year deal.

The ten-time NBA All-Star spent the past two seasons with the Portland Trail Blazers. This past season, the 37-year-old forward averaged 13.4 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game.

The Lakers will be Anthony’s sixth team in the league. He has previously played for the Denver Nuggets, New York Knicks, Oklahoma City Thunder, Houston Rockets and Portland Trail Blazers.

The coming season will be Carmelo’s 18th NBA season. Despite a long career, he is yet to win a championship. Anthony entered the league in 2003 — the same year as James — as the third overall draft pick by the Nuggets.

The report was confirmed by Anthony as well, as he tweeted a short four-second video which included the Lakers logo.

LeBron said in the past that he would love to join forces with Carmelo in the NBA. “I really hope that, before our career is over, we can all play together. At least one, maybe one or two seasons—me, Melo, D-Wade, CP—we can get a year in. I would actually take a pay cut to do that,” he said back in 2016.
