Philadelphia 76ers are preparing to face the Atlanta Hawks in the second round of the Eastern Conference Playoffs with Joel Embiid status being uncertain as of now.
However, the Sixers’ head coach Doc Rivers expressed optimism after the Friday’s practice on Embiid’s situation ahead of Game 1 of the series starting Sunday.
Embiid suffered a small meniscus tear in Game 4 against Washington, missing Game 5 of the series due to the injury. However, the Sixers were able to close out the series vs. the Wizards and advance to the next round.
The All-Star center will be a much-needed presence for the Sixers against Atlanta as the Hawks have Clint Capela protecting the paint. So, Embiid’s availability will be a great factor for the course of the series.
