The Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Orlando Magic (114-103) to end a three-game losing streak. The reigning NBA champions had a tough second quarter, losing it by 18 points (22-40), but were able to recover and took the win.

After the game, the Lakers head coach Frank Vogel shared his thoughts on the win. “We just took our foot off the gas, got off to a big lead against a team that has been struggling,” he said about the second quarter.

“I felt like our guys got complacent. Both sides of the ball we stopped defending, they made 10 of their first 11 shots and were putting them to the line. That can’t happen.

“We’re fortunate enough to dodge a bullet and get the game back under control. But aside from the second quarter, played a heck of a basketball game. So pleased to get the W.”

The win keeps the Lakers in the fifth place in the Western Conference with 36 wins and 25 losses. They are four wins behind the Nuggets and three wins above the Mavericks.
