The debut of Andre Drummond with the Los Angeles Lakers did not go as planned as he had to leave the court early due to a torn toenail. After missing a couple of games, because of the injury, he returned to action against the Miami Heat.

The 27-year-old center played 27 minutes and had a double-double of 15 points and 12 rebounds as the Heat won by 6 points. After the game, he talked about how it felt to play his first real game as a Laker.

“This being my first real game I played, it felt good being out there,” Drummond said. “I’m still trying to figure the guys out, caught myself running into people every now and again, trying to make the right play to get people open.

“The first game’s out the way. I got some film to watch to see where guys like to be on the floor. I think it’s gonna be fine. I think we’re gonna be fine. Just getting guys back, getting guys back healthy and we’ll be fine.”
