Shannon Sharpe is the most popular LeBron James fan out there and is LBJ’s greatest advocate, yet he doesn’t reckon the Los Angeles Lakers superstar could have succeeded in the NFL.
James considered offers from football teams during the NBA lockout in 2011 but did not have to make the crossover and would go on to win his first NBA Championship with the Miami Heat on the back of the impasse. It’s reported he could have played for the Dallas Cowboys, Seattle Seahawks or Cleveland Browns.
Shannon, though, does not subscribe to the notion that Lebron could have been as great an athlete as he’s been in the NBA had he gone on to play in the NFL.
“LeBron James is one of the greatest athletes that we’ve ever seen,” Sharpe said on UNDISPUTED with Skip and Shannon on Monday, “but there’s more to just being a great athlete than playing a professional sport.”
