The Los Angeles Lakers are going through a rough period when it comes to three-point shooting. Even though the defending NBA champions managed to win seven games in a row until getting defeating by the Denver Nuggets, their struggles from beyond the arc continue.

In a loss against Denver, the Lakers made just 21% of their shots from the perimeter which amounted to 18 points. On the other hand, the Nuggets made 19 three-pointers on a 40% shooting. This gave them a 39-point advantage from the three-point line. However, the Lakers head coach Frank Vogel is not concerned and says his team needs to be patient and the shots will start falling in.

“We are struggling to shoot the ball from the perimeter for I guess a couple of weeks now,” Vogel said. “It’s one of those things you just stay the course, you continue to focus on execution and generating quality shots and have our guys to continue to honor their work and the numbers come back around. But we want to continue to emphasize who we’ve been which is attack the paint and any kind of overhelp we play paint the great basketball. It’s been a strength of ours last couple of years.

“We got to generate more of them is what we got to do. If we generate more high quality shots, obviously you see the numbers look different than tonight, you know, getting outscored by 39 at the three-point line. It was a big reason why we lost this game We just got to remain patient and that’ll come around.”
