The Philadelphia 76ers increased their defensive intensity in the second half of Tuesday’s contest against the Sacramento Kings to add to their winning total this season.

The Sixers’ head coach Doc Rivers shared his thoughts on what his team did right in the second half to win its 18th game of the season.

“We just started playing better defense, honestly,” Doc Rivers said in the postgame session. “I thought a lot of it too was we kept them out of the paint. That’s what created a lot of 3s. I thought transition 3s were one and then paint 3s.

Their transition game is amazing with the speed of (De’Aaron) Fox and some of their other guys. I don’t think we adjusted to it well enough in the first half, I thought we did a much better in the second half.”

For the Sixers, who won the sixth out of their last seven contests, Embiid was tremendous recording a double-double with 25 points and 17 rebounds.

Seth Curry and Tobias Harris followed with 22 points each, while Ben Simmons had another all-around performance registering 14 points, nine assists and seven rebounds.
