Frank Vogel opened up about the role of Marc Gasol with the Los Angeles Lakers this season.

Vogel, the head coach of the Lakers, noted the defending champions don’t want Gasol to be a scorer offensively.

“He’s out there to defend, rebound and playmake from the top of the key … We’re not asking him to be a scorer in our offense,” Vogel said about Gasol, via Mike Trudell of Spectrum Sportsnet.

Gasol is averaging 3.7 points, 4.4 rebounds and two assists in 23 games with the Lakers this season.
