NBA legends, especially those who were in their prime in the 1990s, such as Shaquille O’Neal and Charles Barkley tend to criticize modern NBA players for being soft. The criticism isn’t always well received by the players.
The Cuffs Legend raised a question on Instagram of why the young players are so sensitive when the NBA legends give them constructive criticism. The Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James responded to this question alluding that some of the criticism is “soft hate”.
“There’s a difference between constructive criticism and soft hating though. I’ve seen it both ways come my way, mostly the hate. You can hear it in their delivery,” he wrote on Instagram.
The Brooklyn Nets superstar Kevin Durant also weighed in by saying: “Them old heads need to go enjoy retirement. These boys have coaches they work with everyday lol.”
