The Los Angeles Lakers are cruising to the top of the Western Conference thanks to their talented roster. However, NBA analysts believe that LeBron James is having one of the best starts of his career this season being dominant on both ends of the floor.

As a result, the Lakers’ superstar and future Hall of Famer could certainly be on the road to win his fifth MVP award this season. According to NBA analyst Bill Simmons, this year’s campaign seems to be a great possibility for James to win the award, as he stated in his recent podcast.

Simmons claimed James is playing harder on both ends of the floor comparing to other seasons in his late-career. The Lakers concede just 102.9 points per 100 possessions when LeBron is taking the court.

In a really balanced Lakers’ team, James is leading his team in scoring (24.3 points) being the second-best rebounder (8.1) and the assist leader of his team with 7.5 per game.

The 2020 Finals’ MVP is shooting 6.4 attempts per game with the second-best 3PG% of his career (38.6%). He is doing all that while he has the lowest minutes average of his career (31.9) throughout 13 games this season.

James started the season with the notion of being an outsider (as Simmons claims) in the MVP award race. However, more and more analysts, like Simmons, believe that he could certainly be in the mix of winning his fifth MVP if he and the Lakers continue to be dominant in the Western Conference (10-3).
