LeBron James’ Miami days are firmly over now, but how are the Heat coping? Well, they’re the Eastern Conference’s only unbeaten team as of right now? Who’s that down to?

BOSH RETURNS AS LEADER

He was a leader when he was with the Toronto Raptors, except in his last season when it was obvious that he was playing for stats. Now that the LeBron James-era has ended in Miami, Chris Bosh is ready to step up.

Dwayne Wade won’t be able to carry the full load night in and night out, but Bosh has a better chance of doing that.

Via ESPN:

Bosh is off to the most productive three-game start of his Miami tenure, and the Heat have emerged from the first full week of the regular season as the lone unbeaten team in the Eastern Conference after Sunday’s 107-102 victory against Toronto.

While Bosh refuses to buy into the notion that LeBron’s departure to Cleveland in free agency is solely responsible for his initial statistical outburst, the 12-year veteran believes his development is part of a natural progression in his game that was inevitable, regardless of Miami’s personnel.

In other words, after four straight seasons of seeing his scoring and rebounding numbers decline as he settled into a role as primarily a spot-up shooter, something had to give.

“It’s just time,” Bosh said after he finished with 21 points, 11 rebounds and four assists in 38 minutes against the Raptors. “I knew I couldn’t settle into that same position I’ve been in the past four years, floating outside and shooting a couple of jumpers. I know I had to switch it up a little.”

CARMELO ANTHONY REACHES MILESTONE 20,000 POINTS

New York Knicks’ Carmelo Anthony has passed 20,000 points. His other statlines though remain in the low 100s (joking).

Anthony scored 28 points in his side’s 96-93 win over the Charlotte Hornets last night.

JACKSON: I DON’T WANT TO BE AN ON-OFF STARTER

Oklahoma City Thunder guard Reggie Jackson’s contract talks have stalled. The October 31 deadline has passed and he is not happy.

“When I said command a team, I didn’t mean be a temporary starter,” Jackson told journalist Royce Young. “I’m just trying to fill my role while I’m here.”

The Thunder are currently without their two mega stars in Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant through injury.
