The Dallas Mavericks legend Dirk Nowitzki spent 21 seasons in the NBA and despite having such a long career, he remained loyal for a single team. But it wasn’t the same for other league stars.

Nowitzki’s former teammate JJ Barea opened about the German icon’s feelings towards the Miami Heat trio of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. According to Barea, the 2011 NBA champion hated them because James and Bosh chose to leave their original teams, the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Toronto Raptors respectively, to form a super team in Miami.

Nowitzki got the chance to let his anger out on the first year when the three superstars united on the Heat. In 2011, Dallas faced Miami in the Finals and won the series 4-2. The Mavs’ superstar was not going to let his team lose, Barea told JJ Redick and Tommy Alter.

“[Nowitzki] was not going to let us lose. The way he prepared the whole year for it. He hated Miami. He hated LeBron, Wade, Bosh. He’s never going to say that, but he couldn’t stand it.”
