Denver Nuggets’ Michael Porter Jr. will miss the team’s game against the Phoenix Suns on Jan. 1 due to health and safety protocols, according to Shams Charania.

Porter “could be out a number of days” as the Nuggets conduct contact tracing.

The 22-year-old was deemed to have been in close contact with COVID-19, notes Kendra Andrews of The Athletic.

Under league rules, these situations require a seven-day quarantine.

If that timeline holds up for Porter, he will miss two games (in addition to tonight’s game) against the Minnesota Timberwolves and one against the Dallas Mavericks.

In four games this season, Porter is averaging 19.5 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game.
