The Los Angeles Lakers could make another move to bolster its roster. According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the defending NBA champions are monitoring Trevor Ariza’s situation. The defending NBA champions would be interested in signing him if he is waived by the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Ariza changed two teams this offseason. On November 22, the 35-year-old veteran, the draft rights to Isaiah Stewart, and a conditional future first round pick were traded by the Portland Trail Blazers to the Houston Rockets in exchange for Robert Covington.

Five days later, Ariza together with Justin Jackson, a 2023 second-round pick, and a 2026 second-round pick were traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder in a three-team trade involving the Detroit Pistons.

Ariza split last season between the Sacramento Kings and the Portland Trail Blazers. During 32 games with the Kings, he averaged 6 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game. While with the Blazers, he averaged 11 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2 assists in 21 games.
